Remove unit from box.
Open the door of the unit, and fit 4 AA batteries to battery holder fitted to door.
Place a little bait just inside the unit at the door.
Close the door, the red light on the side if the unit will flash twice and go off. THE UNIT IS SWITCHED ON.
Place the unit where the RATS/MICE are causing the most damage.
You are ready for your first kill.
CHECK THE UNIT DAILY.
RED LIGHT FLASHING ON AND OF, You have activation.
JUST drop the dead rodent out of the unit, Open the door, check your bait, close the door and you are ready for your next kill.
AS SIMPLE AS THAT.
BAITS TO TRY.
Sunflower seed always works well, peanut butter on bread, dry dog or cat food, fish pellets, you can in fact try almost anything.
You can try using two or three bait all at once.
MAINTENANCE.
If you find that the kill plate becomes dirty, that is the area that the rodent walks on, do the following.
Open the door and remove one battery. If you don't you could get a shock.
Hold the unit with the entrance facing you, just lift the front of the kill plate up, it is held down with Velcro. Once you have the kill plate free of the Velcro, just pull the kill plate towards you, it will clip loss from the catches at the back.
Just wipe the kill plate with a damp cloth and dry it.
To put the kill plate back, holding it with the two brass caps facing away from you slide the plate back into the unit so that it fits into the two catches at the back. Once firmly in place just press the front of the plate down, the Velcro will grip and keep it in place.
SOME TIPS.
The unit has been activated but no kill.
All ways make sure that the unit is standing firmly, if the unit moves when a rat enters it may cause the rat to leave.
Make sure that the unit is not being activated by some other means, cockroaches, big spiders, gekco's.
Try putting a small block of wood under the unit at the enterance, just to give the unit an angle towards the back. This may help.
If you still find activation and no kills, put a damp cloth just in front of the enterance, just so the Rat/Mouse can walk over it, the mosture will help to clean the feet of the rodent and will help with conductivity. This should do the trick.
We have found that Lucerne is inclined to leave a fine oily film on the ground or floor and this may cause dirt to stick to the rats feet.
