By Fix that Rat
The FIX THAT RAT has been designed with three main criteria in mind.
FIX THAT RAT uses NO POISON = ECO FRIENDLY.
FIX THAT RAT KILLS INSTANTLY = HUMANE.
FIX THAT RAT is simple to use.
Some of the Technology used in the FIX THAT RAT have been specifically designed.
All the units in the FIX THAT RAT range use the same type of electronics and can all operate using 4 AA batteries.
However attachments to hold bigger batteries are available. The bigger batteries will not supply more power they just store a bigger volume of power. They last longer.
The FIX THAT RAT MULTI kill is the only unit that has moving parts.
The current produced by the FIX THAT RAT is extremely small, the voltage is sufficient to eliminate a rat or mouse.
The FIX THAT RAT has a micro switch at the door, thus one can not forget to switch on or off. Door open Unit OFF, Door closed Unit ON
The FIX THAT RAT uses sensors to detect a rodent.
Theses sensor allow the rodent to almost reach the back of the unit before activating, thus big rodents will have a large part of their bodies on the kill plate when the power is activated.
The FIX THAT RAT has a kill rate of 99%,
Why The Development of the FIX THAT RAT.
Man has been responsible for transporting the Rodent (Brown Rat ) to every corner of the world.
As man has settled in different parts of the world, the rodent has been able to take advantage of not only his waste but his dwellings as well.
Man has tried to control the rodent from the earliest of time but to no avail. The rodent has been able to elude eradication by simply adapting to conditions that man has provided: Thanks to man the Rodent can travel to the four corners of the world, man provides, food, warm places to nest, in fact man has provided the perfect environment for the Rodent to thrive.
The control methods that man has tried, Sticks and Stones, guns, poisons, snap traps etc. have all worked to a point. As we know rodents are becoming immune to poisons and thus the rodent is overcoming the most successful method of control to date.
Rodents also carry a number of diseases that are fatal to man and beast, no doubt many thousands of people die each year due to these diseases. Bubonic plague being the most infamous.
The FIX THAT RAT, Rat Killer will not eradicate rodents but it gives man a chance to at least have a product that eliminates rodents instantly with out the use of poison, thus eliminating contamination by poisons of the environment but also prevents secondary poising of wildlife.
Rodents cannot become immune to the FIX THAT RAT.
THE FIX THAT RAT uses NO POISON therefore the FIX THAT RAT is ECO FRIENDLY, it kills INSTANTLY therefore it is HUMANE and FIX THAT RAT is SUPER user friendly
The FIX THAT RAT single kill units have no moving parts and have been designed with ease of application in mind.
The unit is self contained, electronics, battery holder, and kill plates are all in one unit.
The kill plates have been designed to handle small mice as well as large rodents with a kill rate of 99%.
Technology has allowed the FIX THAT RAT to get the maximum power from 4 pen light batteries as well as using only a very small amount of that power to eliminate the rodent thus giving a battery life that can last for up to 6 months on stand by or about 40 kills per set. Always use the best batteries.
THE RAT.
Both the Brown and Black RAT have their roots in Asia and over the centuries thanks to man and his ways of transport and life style the rat has been a constant companion.
The Rat possibly arrived in South Africa with the first settlers in the Cape and as they moved up into the inter-land the rat hitched a ride. Today they are in every town and city in the country, on every farm, and still spreading.
Man no doubt has been trying to control the rat from day one, but to no avail.
Mans first control methods were simple- sticks and stones, and as new control methods have become available, so the rat has adapted. With all the technology at our disposal the rat continues to out number us 8 to 1.
The RAT will eat almost anything (i.e.) meat, seeds, vegetables, carrion, bark, leather, sweets etc.
He will also gnaw on anything including steel, wood, plastic, rubber and bricks. The main reason for this is two fold, rodents teeth grow constantly and by gnawing they keep them sharp and at the correct length.
Rats will live anywhere, where there is a food source and have been known to travel up to 5klm. to find food.
They are very territorial when food is in short supply and will defend the ‘home range’ to the death. They will however live side by side if food is plentiful.
The normal Rat family consists of a dominant male, a female and up to 15 offspring. As the young males reach sexual maturity the dominate male will drive them away.
A female can produce 4 sets of pups per year and the pups will start breeding from between the 2nd and 3rd month.
It has been suggested that if no rat on earth was killed for a period of 1 year, the earth would be covered up to a depth of about a metre. Fortunately the mortality rate in rats is high, up to 90% of all young die before they are 6 months old. Just as well!
MAN verses RAT.
There is NO contest the RAT is out smarting man at every turn.
Man has tried all sorts of methods to eliminate the rat, from sticks and stones to catapults, guns, gas, poisons, glue, and no doubt a few other methods as well, man will never completely eradicate the rat.
The estimate is that the RAT out numbers man 8 to 1 on the earth, this is a staggering thought.
South Africa has a population of about 50 million people , for every 5 million people there are 40 million rats that gives South Africa a rat population of some 400 million rats.
If each rat ate just ONE cent worth of food a day their food bill would be 4 million rand a day, 28 million per week, 112 million per month.
The damage that they cause due to there constant gnawing also runs into millions per day. One company lost one days turnover due to a cable being damaged by rats, their loss was 6 million!!
The cost to man does not stop there.
Rats carry and spread 69 odd diseases to both man and beast.
Bubonic plague being the most infamous but other diseases such as Lyme disease, Salmonella, Trichinosis, Rat Bite Fever, Weils, Typhus, Leptospirosis, Lasser Fever to name just a few.
Some of these diseases are fatal to man and can cause death in a healthy human in a short space of time, and more so in humans that have a weak or weakened immune system.
Some of these diseases are not easy to diagnose and the treatment in some cases takes time to become effective.
People living in areas where medical help is not readily available, may well die and the reason for their death will never be known. THE RAT MAY BE THE CAUSE.
Rats last year killed a baby in a township near Johannesburg, the child was attacked during the night and is believed to have bled to death.
South Africa has a huge rodent problem, they are found everywhere from Cape Point at the waters edge to the driest parts of the country, deep under ground in mines, in cold stores, factories, hospital, hotels , farms, homes in the cities and towns
The cost of using poison on our wild life can only be estimated.
Rats will eat the eggs as well a chicks in a nest, they will kill other small mammals and have been know to kill and eat the young kittens of both domestic and wild cats.
The disease spread by rats to our wild life must be quite considerable.
POISON the ENVIROMENTand CONCERVATION.
Man, no matter what he does, causes some damage to the environment, be it driving a car or simply having a braai etc., some damage will be caused.
We can all with just a little thought be more environmentally aware.
Poisons have been used for a long time to control not only rats and mice, crops are sprayed, fly sprays are used in the home etc., and the result - there are more rats today than 10 years ago, the pest still attack the crops, the flies are still every where, the only thing that is suffering is the ENVIRONMEMT. We all know this.
For the tons of rat poison put out every day in South Africa there should not be a single rat or mouse in the country, yet we are still out numbered 8 to 1. Why? If the poisons are as effective as claimed, then we should be a rat free country.
The poisons that are put out do not just disappear into thin air, they have to go somewhere.
THE QUESTION IS WHERE????
The poison ingested by owls, hawks, wild cats etc., after catching rats and mice that have been poisoned is causing havoc, not only to these species but to a wider range of animal and insects, e.g that feed on either the carcasses or in the case of insects that feed on fae'ces. Poison has no boundaries, it does not see good or bad, and it kills and destroys indiscriminately, even years after it was first put out.
We can all do just a little to help our sick ailing environment.
